- Sola walk with a gentle, quiet, slow nature. When they sleep, they have their fore legs tucked under their bodies, necks extended, and the chin resting on the floor.
- The Saola occurs only in the Annamite Mountains, along the border of Vietnam and Laos. It has one of the smallest ranges of any large mammal.
- Saola is listed as Critically Endangered (the last stop before extinction) on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species.
